On 21st of June 2019, Mustique Airways proudly celebrated our 40th anniversary. We would like to take this opportunity to present our company’s history, since 1979.

How the company’s history begins…

The inspirational idea of an airline based on the Island of Mustique for inter-island flights, came when Michel Seydoux, owner of Groupe MSC, located in Paris, was building his home on the island of Mustique in 1978. The following year, Mustique Airways Ltd. was formed and incorporated under the Company’s Act of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Mustique Airways began operating a service between St. Vincent and Mustique. Very soon, the routes expanded to include the majority of Islands in the Eastern Caribbean.

In 1981, Jonathan and Marnie Palmer, formerly with the Barbadian based airline Tropic Air, joined forces with Michel Seydoux. Jonathan now Chairman, continues to successfully expand the services, focusing on personalised service, efficiency and integrity.

As a result of a rapid increase in passenger numbers, the airline’s administrative and corporate offices moved to the Island of St. Vincent. Construction of the first aircraft maintenance facility in St. Vincent and the Grenadines followed, located at the decommissioned E.T Joshua Airport. .

How it grows…

Subsequently, Mustique Airways relocated to our modern hangar and office complex at the Argyle Airport International Airport took place on February 14th, 2017. Offices and a check-in counter were established at The Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados, to accommodate the escalating number of flights, and to facilitate in-transit passengers destined for St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Airline has grown considerably since that memorable first day. Our fleet of Islanders and Aero Commanders are a perfect complement to our preferred role as a ‘niche carrier”. The aircraft all have the capability to fly from the airline’s international hubs to all of the airports in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Mustique Airways’ service extends throughout the Eastern Caribbean, from Tortola in the north to Trinidad in the south. Primary routes are from Barbados, Martinique, Grenada and St. Lucia to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Discerning and knowledgeable travellers favour Mustique Airways. They know that they can disembark from a private jet or international flight and be transferred discreetly and efficiently to one of Mustique Airways waiting aircraft.
